Primary Role:

The Security Installer is responsible for the installation of physical security and audio/video equipment, including, but not limited to, cameras, cabling, antennas, equipment racks, displays, NVR’s, etc.  The Security Installer is responsible for installing the products in accordance with the contract specifications and in a safe and secure manner.  All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by Avinext and our clients, while assuring a professional and safe work environment.  This is a full-time position with overtime likely.  Most work is performed Monday through Friday from 8 am – 5 pm with occasional evening and weekend work.  Some travel required.


  • Maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times
  • Move product, equipment, and tools to and from job site each day
  • Pull, terminate, test, and label cables according to plans
  • Drill, trench, suspend cables paths and cable trays as specified
  • Mount cameras, antennas, switches, racks, and other equipment
  • Complete all wiring, connections and equipment installations according to plans and specifications
  • Remove trash and clean job site daily
  • Meet installation deadlines
  • Responsible for accurate tracking of time, expenses, tickets, inventory, and tools
  • Full compliance with safety programs of company and customers
  • Operating hand tools, power tools, crimp tools, and testing equipment
  • Working from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
  • Complete training programs from manufacturers, industry associations, and company as required
  • Other duties as required or assigned by management


Security Installer is accountable to the AV Services Manager.  Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees and customers of the company.


Installer shall possess a high school diploma or equivalent.  Prior experience using power tools, working in construction, and/or work as an audio video technician preferred.  Applicants must complete a background check and have good driving record.


Some out-of-town travel is required and may require overnight stays.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.

Proficiency in the use of Windows 7, Microsoft Office, and business applications.

Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.

Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.

Must be able to read and effectively interpret business and technical documentation.

Valid and current driver’s license.


Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.

Frequent lifting of heavy objects is required.

Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.

Must be able to climb ladders and work on lifts and scaffolding.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Frequent use of test equipment and power tools.
